Those present

With Les Présents, Flore Prébay focuses on those who devote part of themselves to supporting a loved one on a daily basis: carers. Whether they are partners, mothers, friends or children, the series shines a light on these quiet figures who offer support and continue to love, whether through resilience or exhaustion, tenderness or resignation.

Through a simple question — “If you had a moment all to yourself, what would your innermost dream be?” — the photographer captures their intimate “breaths” and transforms these stories into photographic and visual artworks. The series takes shape on handmade paper produced especially for the project with her uncle, and is then enhanced with pictorial interventions.

A French visual artist and photographer born in 1998 in Paris, Flore Prébay lives in Boulogne-Billancourt. A graduate of the École de Condé, her practice is based on a blend of photography, painting and handmade paper, produced in collaboration with her uncle, a paper craftsman. Her prints, reworked with watercolour, transform the medium into an active element of the image. Her work explores the ephemeral, and geographical, human and emotional territory, through a dreamlike and delicate aesthetic. Represented by the Polka Gallery (Paris), she has exhibited at the Les Femmes s’exposent festival (Houlgate), the Fisheye Gallery, the unRepresented a ppr oc he fair, and the Biennale de l’Image Tangible (Paris). Her artist’s book *Deuil Blanc* is part of the collections of the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
