Set against the cliffs, Sylvie Bonnot develops a metaphorical exploration of the notion of connection within the shifting shores of Normandy, echoing the thinking of Tim Ingold. Her conception of lines and transmissions as living, ever-changing entanglements, rather than as layers, influences a body of work in which lines, fibres and bodies extend into the texture of the photographic material.

Intertwined vines, roped-together forms, and meandering patterns of glossy darkness form a sensory continuum. These porous textures sketch out a reflection interwoven with invisible connections as much as with emerging forms.

The large-format images, with their palpable materiality, are ‘moultings’: a process invented by the artist, achieved by the crystallised peeling away of the silver membrane from his prints in order to enhance their organic quality.

Through tremors, erosion and plasticity, *Concordances des liens* explores our connection to the living world, to others and to the image, in both its continuities and its frictions.

A French photographer born in 1982 in Bourg-en-Bresse, Sylvie Bonnot lives between Burgundy and Paris. Through her experimental practice, she explores our relationship with living things and images, particularly in relation to the landscape—especially forests. The printing process becomes a space for reflection, giving rise to a performative approach to photography. With her ‘moulting’ technique, she lifts the silver membrane to lend an organic dimension to her images, without altering their documentary significance. Represented by Le Hangar (Brussels) and a member of the Tendance Floue collective, she has exhibited her work at Paris Photo in 2025, the Musée Nicéphore Niépce and the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles/Paris. Her works are held in the collections of the Bibliothèque nationale de France and the Musée Nicéphore Niépce.
