Suddenly, the melee
Set against the backdrop of the Normandy countryside, *Soudain la mêlée* explores the deep bonds that unite humans, animals and nature. Amidst beaches, dunes and wooded countryside, young people spend time with their dogs in spaces where play, instinct and freedom come together.
Amidst the packs, bodies brush against one another, chase each other and sometimes clash. Amidst trust, energy and tension, the images capture a physical and instinctive relationship, imbued with the power of life. Fur, earth, light and movement come together to form a dense, sensory world where animals reclaim their rightful place.
In an exhibition on the beach, Tina Merandon offers a glimpse into a vibrant, untamed natural world, where gentleness, intensity and a hint of wildness intertwine.
A French photographer born in 1963 in Paris, Tina Merandon lives in Montreuil. Her approach, influenced by Fauvism and German Expressionism, is based on a visual exploration of colour, body language and graphic forms. At the heart of her work lies the relationship between animals and humans: the body, the skin and movement are highlighted in improvised choreographies, ranging from exchanges to confrontations.
She also teaches at Sorbonne Paris 1 (specialising in photography). Represented by Agence VU’, she has taken part in the Festival du Regard, the Photaumnales and the Daegu Photo Biennale in Korea, amongst other exhibitions in France and abroad. Her works are held in the collections of the Musée Nicéphore Niépce, the BNF and the Neuflize OBC collection.
