What borders

Driven by a desire to discover, understand and share different ways of life, Naïma Lecomte chose to follow the course of the Touques, a river that flows from its source across the land before emptying into the sea, separating Trouville from Deauville. As she walks along its banks, she explores the landscapes, neighbourhoods and human presence that mark its course.
The Touques, which connects the Pays d'Auge to the English Channel, has long served as a waterway for the transport of goods, playing a major role in the economic development and identity of the riverside towns.
Naïma's documentary work, shot in medium format film, offers a sensitive portrait of the areas bordering the Touques and the Rivière Morte, an old branch of the river that has been isolated since 1863.

Born in 1996 in La Rochelle, Naïma Lecomte lives in the south of France. A graduate of the ENSP (Arles), she has developed a sensitive and committed body of work exploring the links between humans and territories. In 2023, she was awarded the Lucie Foundation prize for her series Bergerie de Faucon.
