Eros and Intimacy

Lin Zhipeng, known as No. 223, accurately captures contemporary urban youth through spontaneous, intimate and sensual photographs. His provocative yet delicate gaze captures a generation in search of emancipation, love and freedom.
In Deauville and the surrounding area, he continues his exploration of nudity in public spaces, staging liberated bodies in iconic locations, questioning social norms and celebrating unbridled desire. This exhibition will also be an opportunity to celebrate his twenty-year career with a unique retrospective. A selection of his iconic series will be presented in a new venue specially created for this edition of the Planches Contact Festival: the Hangar.

Chinese photographer Lin Zhipeng, known as 223, was born in Guangdong in 1979 and lives and works in Beijing. Self-taught and now a major figure in contemporary Chinese photography, 223 explores intimate freedom, sexuality and creative energy through analogue colour photography, capturing the essence of his life, his friends and shared moments. His images, somewhere between desire and chaos, celebrate a youth that defies social expectations. Represented by several galleries in Europe and Asia, such as in)(between gallery in Paris, he has exhibited at the MEP (Paris), among other venues.
