Normandy Diary

Daniel Blaufuks explores the relationship between photography and literature, as well as private and collective memory, through works combining images and text.
His work, presented in the form of an installation of visual diaries, captures the details of everyday life and draws inspiration from places steeped in history in Normandy. He creates a dialogue between past and present, paying tribute to iconic figures who have left their mark on the region.
Through this project, Daniel Blaufuks offers a poetic reflection on memory, history and the ability of ordinary moments to reveal universal truths.

Portuguese artist born in Lisbon in 1963, Daniel Blaufuks explores the links between photography, literature, memory, and perceptions of time and space. His work spans books, installations and films. Represented by the Jean-Kenta Gauthier Gallery (Paris) and the Vera Cortês Gallery (Lisbon), he has exhibited at the Museu de Arte Moderna in Rio and the Museu Nacional de Arte Contemporânea in Lisbon, among others.
