Interested in popular cultures often found on the outskirts of big cities, Simon Bouillère immersed himself in drift culture and ultra football culture in the south of France, within the Martigues club. For this residency in Normandy, he continues his exploration, this time at the heart of amateur football.
Rather than focusing on the most prestigious regional teams, he chooses to highlight the popular and unifying essence of this practice, focusing on small clubs, local stadiums and training sessions. His work reveals the deep social imprint of football in a region where Le Havre saw the birth of the first French club.
Through his lens, he recounts how this popular sport is experienced and celebrated, while also questioning broader issues of identity and masculinity today.

Born in 1996 in Lorient, Simon Bouillère lives in Arles. A graduate of the ENSP (Arles), he has developed a documentary approach that questions popular practices and their links with territories. His work has been exhibited at the Rencontres d'Arles, Circulation(s) and the Centre Photographique de Marseille.
