Underlying the series is a pivotal encounter that highlights the need to continue experiencing beauty despite an awareness of our mortality: setting out together, holding on to a few hours before they slip away. Through portraits, nocturnal lighting and suspended mornings, Emeline Sauser crafts a sensitive narrative about that inner fire that drives us to connect, to love and to carry on, come what may.

A French photographer born in 1998 in Nogent-sur-Marne, Emeline Sauser lives and works in Paris. Having studied history in Lyon and Santiago de Chile, and subsequently documentary photography at the Ecole des métiers de l’information in Paris, she uses photography to explore the connections between individuals, the need for comfort, and the search for refuge. Her work is characterised by a sensitive, intimate and documentary approach to human relationships. The recipient of several awards, she has notably been awarded the Prix de l’Intime at the Rencontres Photographiques de Boulogne-Billancourt and the Prix Mentors in 2025. She has exhibited at the Signatures gallery, the Rencontres du 10e (Paris), and the Zoom Photo Festival Saguenay (Quebec).
