Created in 2010, the Deauville Photography Festival, Planches Contact, welcomes around twenty established and emerging photographers each year for a creative residency, inviting them to look at the region and develop their projects in Normandy.

Since its creation, Planches Contact has given pride of place to emerging artists and new generations of photographers through the Tremplin Jeunes Talents programme, a system that each year welcomes four photographers at the beginning of their careers for a creative residency, selected by a jury of visual arts professionals.

During their residency, the photographers receive logistical, editorial and artistic support from the festival team. They also benefit from the simultaneous presence of photographers invited by the festival, as well as advice and support from the artistic direction.

The Tremplin Jeunes Talents is supported by the Festival InCadaqués and Fnac

The four candidates are selected upon presentation of a portfolio. The application must include a statement of project intent, a portfolio of previous work (one to three series of 15 images each) and a CV. A shortlist of around thirty entries is then presented to the Planches Contact jury.

The four selected photographers will receive a 6,000 € grant towards the help of the production of the photographic series to be showcased in autumn 2025. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the festival.

At the end of the exhibitions, a selection of five photographs will be added to the collections of Les Franciscaines and the Town of Deauville.

Awarded during the inaugural weekend, the Tremplin Jeunes Talent award grants the winner a creative residency with the InCadaqués Festival, a partner of Planches Contact.

Moreover, after the festival, the partnership with Fnac will see the four selected photographers exhibited in the Photo Galleries of Fnac Ternes in Paris and Fnac Lyon Bellecour
