Springboard for young talent
Created in 2016, Tremplin jeunes talents Planches Contact selects five photographers, young in their photographic practices, for several weeks of creative residency during which they are invited to share their vision of Deauville and the territory for an exhibition that will be presented during the next edition of Planches Contact.
A scholarship is awarded to participants for the realization of their project, which will be exhibited and nominated for the jury prize and the Planches Contact public prize. At the end of the exhibitions, a selection of images will join the photographic collection of the city of Deauville.
A constant feature of all Deauville's cultural festivals, support for young talent is made concrete with Planches Contact and this competition. During their residency, these photographers benefit from the help and support of the festival teams and the City of Deauville. They also benefit from the simultaneous presence in residence of the photographers invited by the festival.
The five candidates were selected this year by a jury composed of Sarah Moon, photographer and director, president of the jury, Laura Serani, artistic director of Planches Contact since 2019, Philippe Augier, mayor of Deauville, Lionel Charrier, photo editor of Libération, Babeth Djian, editorial director of Numéro, Alain Genestar, general manager of Polka Magazine and the photographer in residence at the festival. vice-president of the jury, Thierry Grillet, director of cultural diffusion at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Julien Guerrier, director of Louis Vuitton publishing, Marin Karmitz, founder of the MK2 cinemas Anne Lacoste, director of the Institute for Photography, who will also award the Jury Prize.
The photographers selected this year are: Clara Chichin, Nadine Jestin, Manon Rénier, Hugo Weber and Ousmane Goïta whose residency due to the health crisis has been postponed to 2021.

Le Point de Vue, qui accueille les expositions de Todd Hido et des Tremplins Jeunes Talents, est actuellement fermé, conformément à la règlementation sanitaire en vigueur.
Créé en 2016, le Tremplin Jeunes Talents Planches Contact sélectionne cinq photographes, jeunes dans leurs pratiques photographiques, pour plusieurs semaines de résidence de création durant lesquelles ils sont invités à livrer leur regard sur Deauville et le territoire en vue d’une exposition qui sera présentée lors de l’édition suivante du festival.
Une bourse est attribuée aux participants pour la réalisation de leur projet qui sera exposé et en lice pour le Prix du Jury et le Prix du Public Planches Contact. A l’issue des expositions, une sélection d’images rejoindra les collections photographiques de la Ville de Deauville.Constante de tous les festivals culturels de Deauville, le soutien aux jeunes talents se concrétise avec Planches Contact et ce concours.
Pendant leur résidence, ces photographes bénéficient de l’aide et du soutien des équipes du festival et de la Ville de Deauville.
Ils profitent également de la présence simultanée en résidence des photographes invités par le festival. Cinq candidats ont été sélectionnés cette année par un jury composé de Sarah Moon, Philippe Augier, Lionel Charrier, Babeth Djian, Alain Genestar, Thierry Grillet, Julien Guerrier, Marin Karmitz, Anne Lacoste, Laura Serani et qui attribuera également le prix du Jury. Il s’agit de : Clara Chichin, Nadine Jestin, Manon Renier, Hugo Weber et Ousmane Goïta dont la résidence en raison de la crise sanitaire a été reportée en 2021.
